Highlights

Multispectral Remote Sensing Evaluation study (Aster, Landsat 8) on this license was completed in 2018.

  • North Atlantic craton - several terranes assembled 2.7 Ga (Island Arc/Ocean Floor/Magmatic). High-grade metamorphic rocks (gneiss-migmatite), (mafic) granulite, amphibolite, tonalite-granodiorite, mafic-ultramafic.
  • License in the northern part of the Tasiusarsuaq (TAS) gold province, with more than 7 anomalous areas that are more than 500 m x 200 m wide (Kolb et al., 2013).
  • Nuuk gold province; Storo gold deposit (Nuna Minerals, 1moz) 30km N.
  • Hypozonal quartz-gold veins in shear zones and saddle reefs (2.67-2.61 Ga), Intracratonic shear zones.
  • Kolb et al. 2013 describes an area in the license with ‘regionally extensive Hydrothermal (gold±pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite) quartz vein system’ (Au up to 500 ppb).
  • Prospective for Archean gold and IOCG.
  • One anomalous gold stream sediment sample, 2 copper and 2 zirconium, one TREE.
  • Very low degree of historic exploration. GEUS conducted stream sediment survey, prospecting, mapping. Not yet explored by CGRG.
  • Data available: Airborne magnetics, geologic map 1:200,000; only 17 stream sediments (more may exist), no rock samples.
